Today, November 19th, the LGBTQ Coalition is commemorating Transgender Day of Remembrance.
TDOR is an extremely important event to those of the LGBTQ Community. It a way to visibilize the T (transgender, trans, transexual...), a part of the community that is oftentimes overshadowed. We especially remember those who have been victims of hate crime because of their gender identity.
Please join the LGBTQ Coalition on November 19th to help us send the message that those who are gone are not forgotten. The event will be split into two parts: the day, and the candlelight vigil at night. We will be at the MU North Stage from 10:30-4pm, and at the Student Services Lawn from 6:30-8:30pm.
We will be wearing black that day with white armbands. The armbands will be passed out during the day to any who want to show their support. If you cannot participate in the event, please show your support by wearing black and coming by the table for an armband.
