First LGBTQ General Meeting this Thursday

Hello everyone!

Thanks to those of you who attended Fall Welcome and made the event so successful. This newsletter is to remind everyone that the first General Meeting of the LGBTQ Coalition will be this Thursday and starts at 6:00pm. The location of the meeting will be in the MU Alumni Lounge (Room 120).

If you need to get in contact with the coalition, or just want a safe place, the LGBTQ Office is open from 10am (sometimes earlier!) to around 5pm. You can also email the coalition at lcoaliti@asu.edu or call us at 480-965-8690.

    What it means to be any ally varies from person to person. We know the straight allies are an essential part of the LGBTQ community. We also know LGBTQA communities are made of diverse backgrounds and experiences. We often don’t talk about how those who identify as LGBTQA can also be allies to each other. This dialogue explores the roles, challenges and meaning of being an ally to the LGBTQ community and the various communities within it.

Graduation/End-of-the-Year Picnic!!!

Hello everybody!

So, the semester is winding to a close. For some of you, it may already be over. That's why, this Sunday, you should come celebrate the end of the semester and partake in the crazy queer revelry with the LGBTQ Coalition! We will be having a picnic at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, starting at 5:30pm, where we will also present our graduates with rainbow tassels.

Update/Correction - Trip to Shooter's World

Trip to Shooter's World with the Pink Pistols

Dear LGBTQ Coalition Members,

I just wanted to let you all know about an up-coming event sponsored by the ASU Students for Liberty to which the Coalition's members have been invited.

Contact Ross Kenyon if you would be interested in going to the Shooter's World gun range in order, "Learn to exercise your natural right to self defense and the Constitutional rights which protect it."

The trip is May 28th, at 5:15pm, at Shooter's World in Phoenix at 3828 North 28th Avenue. The cost is presently $30 per person, though according to Ross, this could decrease.

Flyering Correction

I just realized that I didn't state where flyering and bannering is taking place today. Both will take place at the Coalition office in the MU room 340. I'll be bannering from 10:30-1:30 and then flyering tonight around 4:30 or 5. Thanks again everyone.
